What do we do at The Pursuit Counseling? We are more than just a mental health practice—we are a partner in your journey toward growth, healing, and fulfillment. Founded by Adam R Glendye, LPC, CPCS, The Pursuit Counseling was born out of a deep passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with courage and resilience. Our mission is to empower our clients to pursue their best selves, no matter the obstacles they face.

Our Team

Adam R Glendye LPC, CPCS is our Founder/CEO/Clinical Supervisor. From leading the clinical team to InstaCart orders for more Sparkling Water, Adam enjoys creating a culture where the team feels cared for and equipped to serve our clients. Adam’s friends and clients call him the sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll therapist. He works with high-performing people who’s home life is crap. He loves working with business leaders and aspiring leaders in our community.

Julia Akins APC was our first team member. She comes from a background of working at WinShape where she supported a team who cared for corporate leaders and their families. Julia is an excellent Trauma Therapist who uses evidence-based theories to help her clients who want to work through Trauma, Addiction, Leadership Opportunities, and Grief.

Mary Laughlin APC comes from a background in working at CHOA and was a Guide at The Forest School. Mary utilizes her background in the arts to help conceptualize her clients as she works through parenting, identity, women’s health, and family therapy. Mary is a graduate of Auburn University and loves wearing her Tigers colors on Friday.

Jason Collins APC has over 25 years experience as a pastor. He was a college athlete and loves cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. Through his ministry experience, Jason has helped many families understand their world through faith. As a professional counselor, Jason works with his clients as they process trauma, addiction, and family systems. His ability to integrate faith into clinical theory helps many clients understand their spiritual wounds or strengths as they work toward understanding their pasts and create goals for their pursuit.

Katie Huggins CIT is also a college athlete. She played volleyball at Lee University and loves working with athletes, leaders, and families navigating mood disorders and trauma. Katie spends time working in our ADHD Program to help her clients learn to navigate and excel in their Pursuits with an understanding of how to harness their potential.

Our Approach

What do we do at The Pursuit Counseling? We take a client-centered approach to therapy. This means that we prioritize the needs and goals of our clients, working collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to their unique situation. We believe that therapy is a partnership, and we are committed to walking alongside our clients as they navigate their journey toward healing and growth.

Our approach is also integrative, meaning that we draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities to best meet the needs of our clients. These modalities include Narrative Therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, and Mindfulness therapies, among others. By combining different approaches, we can provide a more comprehensive and effective treatment plan that addresses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
